Coming home on Sunday from singing all day in sacrament meetings I saw this van and thought of my good friend Mary, a former teacher in Taiwan. You can't really see the stickers with the tiny picture so if you really are interested in it click on the picture and... well you can figure it out. I missed Mary's birthday so I suppose I'm a terrible friend, but a good enough friend that I won't put up a picture of her that she would later call me for. So, here's to you poison dart in Waco, Texas.

Apparently my father has a sense of humor
So I decided to show my family Brian Regan on Sunday and things turned out pretty well. I have never seen my father laugh so constantly and hard in my life. Thought some of you might enjoy this. If you hate it you can delete me from your blog list and I won't even cry.

A morning at the bus stop
Early this morning, at about 9am that is, I walked down to the bus stop. Expecting a normal day to ensue. I got down to the bus stop laden down with two backpacks and a song in my head.
I got down to the bus stop and noticed four people at the bus stop across from me going to the University of Utah. I waved and all four of them waved back. It was a different feeling and sight than I am use to. It felt like a scene out of Harry Potter when he looks into the mirror of longing, or whatever it's called. Then they all got on the bus and I decided the time was ripe to break out the camera. I thought that was interesting enough and then a paramedic drove by.
You can barely see the paramedics in the left side of the photo, but I thought it was a little strange. And then the next vehicle drove by, this time I did have the camera handy.
The bus finally came and I was sorely tempted to take a picture of the bus but I wasn't so sure that the bus driver would appreciate it. I also documented the last six minutes of the bus ride. Don't worry I used the rapid fire option on the camera.
So that's my early morning expereince on the bus. I also started a really, really boring book. It's for school and it is my sincere hope that it gets better, otherwise I'll be forced to start another book, not exactly what I desire.

Obsessions
Teaching children

It's fun to work at the Y-M-C-A!
So yes, in fact I do work at the YMCA not just volunteer there, although sometimes it feels as if I have no control over the situation at work. But the kids are cool nonetheless and I am slowly getting use to American children once again. Who knew that kids from West Ogden could be so different from kids in central Taiwan? Well regardless I am here to stay, at least for the next couple of months, or until they threaten me against taking any more pictures. My poor co-workers must hate me for spending too much time doing that but no one has yet to say anything, so I'll continue as if I don't know any better. I do enjoy working with these kids although sometimes I am forced to pull teeth. It isn't my favorite thing to do but it gets me through the days. Not all of the kids are trouble makers in fact most are not.
This is Nina and Nina does know how to get the job done. It is helpful having a few of the kids doing their homework because it makes my job that much easier. All in all the kids seem to like me most of the time and they are good practice for the day I get to become a dad. I already know what doesn't work so I can skip those useless attempts.
On top of trying to figure out how to raise children I also get to pretend how to entertain them. I must admit this is just a wee bit harder in America than it was in Taiwan. It could have to do with the fact that there are thirty kids here, or the fact that they are all different ages, or I might just be clueless as to how to control a classroom. I remember when I thought teaching was a piece of cake, I have no idea where that crazy notion came from. But I have since been kicked off my high horse and have had to continue to do crazy things to keep smiles on faces, even if it is just my own. So if your curious I invite you to check out more pictures from the YMCA by clicking here.

Calling all my hidden followers
Just remember that I am a nice guy but I am curious to discover the fans of my life. Heck I might even offer to do your dishes if I could just figure out who you are.
